The Rambam Book Chat held its first meet of the year last week with a lunch and discussion at Traditions. The Book Chatters begin every year with two short stories before moving on to full books and this year started with “The Father” and “The Grasshopper and the Ant.” These classic yet accessible stories led to a record turnout and students were given much to discuss. The discussions, led by Principal Mr.

Hillel Goldman, ranged from topics on parenting, effort, reward and punishment, the role of religion, fate, and karma. Past Book Chat books have including books such as “I, Robot,” “The Death of Grass,” “Nothing But the Truth,” The Alchemist,” “!2 Angry Men” and more. The Book Chat will meet again in the coming months after a full length novel is picked! Let the debate the begin!
