M arking another year of Israeli independence on April 22nd marks another year of festivities at Rambam in recognition of this momentous day. Before the festivities began, students had the opportunity to hear a powerful perspective on the meaning behind Yom Ha’atzmaut. IDF soldier and Rambam alum, Class of 2022, Jay Cohen, returned to speak with the students. As a Rambam Man, Jay was able to connect deeply, sharing personal stories from his time in the army. Afterward, students asked thoughtful questions, and even after the assembly ended, many stayed behind to continue speaking with him. As is tradition, Dr. Goldman presented Jay with a plaque as a token of appreciation and honor. A special thank you to Jay Cohen, and his parents who were in attendance, and to everyone involved in organizing this meaningful visit. Following the assembly, the celebration continued with Rambam’s annual excursion to Woodmere Lanes. There, the Israeli spirit in each student was brought out to its fullest. In a Yeshiva League first, Rambam Mesivta created an 11 vs. 11 style Soccer Tournament so Yeshiva League Soccer players could experience the real thing! —totals. The winner of the highest individual score was none other than Dovi Stark from the 10th grade (Pictured Right) with an impressive 164. The seniors took home the win for highest overall grade score, finishing with 3,594 points and earning themselves an ice-cream treat.
