Last Wednesday, Rambam students paired up for the Annual Codenames Tournament! Codenames is a game of cryptology, communication, knowledge and interpersonal connection, in which one team member gives a one-word hint to connect a number of nouns. Topping last year’s intense battle was going to be no small feat, but lucky for us, Bernie Weiner (senior) stepped up to the task, and oh how he delivered! The tournament is held at the same time as the famed Rambam Annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, so roughly a third of the school arrived in the lunchroom that Wednesday afternoon, prepared for mental combat. After many rounds won and hearts broken, the tournament condensed down to its final two teams. Bernie Weiner and Tzviki Gaerman (sophomore) against Ethan Farber (junior) and Jesse Davis (junior). The match attracted much attention, including that of Rambam’s Principal, Dr. Hillel Goldman, who observed the intenstity personally. In the end, the juniors emerged victorious! Congratulations to Ethan Farber and Jesse Davis on this incredible feat, their names will be etched in glory forever. The school gives a big thanks to Bernie Weiner for putting together such an amazing tournament. All involved had a great day of fun, and can’t wait for next year’s tournament to have another shot at glory- or to return for vengeance.
