This past Wednesday, the Rambam Mesivta Mock Trial Team participated in an exciting matchup against North Shore Hebrew Academy. With leading attorneys Henach Barningham, Esq., Yoni Pfeifer, Esq., and Yehuda Mayefsky, Esq. The mock trial case revolves around A. Carmen Erickson; accused of robbery and resisting arrest. This counsel fought tooth and nail to defend their client’s freedom by showing bias in the investigation, and the witnesses attested to Erickson’s alibi, playing a video game. Being defense counsel for NYSBAR, the team’s witnesses were the cunning Yoni Kogan, representing Bo Kerrick, who was Carmine Erickson’s correctional officer, attesting to his straight-arrow mentality, and the sharpwitted Avichai Yosipov, a. k. a. Carmine Erickson, being wrongfully accused of stealing cooking grease. Carmine takes the stand and lets no wrong word sit peacefully, throwing back sharp remarks under the judge’s nose to the opposing counsel. Closed in by the sharp-faced Yosef Harris, aspiring lawyer and son of the great Richard Harris, he fought in defense of his close friend and cousin, Carmine Erickson. He attested that Carmine wouldn’t dream of taking his old blue pickup to steal 75 gallons of cooking grease! The team salutes NSHA for posing a formidable opposition, which ultimately withstood ours, and looks forward to witnessing their future success. The team is looking forward to their next matchup as the prosecution (featuring attorneys Henach Barningham, Yoni Kogan, and Yosef Harris) this coming Monday, the 9th, against Oceanside. To victory!
